Klarna, a global BNPL provider and AI-powered shopping assistant, has strengthened its partnership with Woo, a flexible, open-source e-commerce solution built on WordPress. As part of this collaboration, Klarna will now become the default payment option for merchants using WooPayments.
With this expanded partnership, Klarna will be offered as a preferred payment method to WooPayments merchants globally, alongside traditional card payment options.
WooCommerce, one of the world’s leading e-commerce platforms, powers over 4 million online stores.
Klarna’s Mission to Be at Every Checkout
As consumers increasingly adopt new payment methods tailored to their spending habits, Klarna aims to be present at every point of sale. The collaboration with WooPayments marks another step towards achieving this mission. Klarna is evolving from an “alternative” payment option, added at the retailer’s request, to a seamless default method expected by both merchants and customers.
Klarna offers consumers a variety of payment options, including immediate payments, short-term interest-free BNPL solutions, and long-term financing. Globally, approximately 30% of payments processed by Klarna are immediate transactions.
